About a year ago, an Occupational Therapist came into our bookstore looking for a book on depression. She was someone who daily helped others deal with stress and other job related physical problems, and yet she was struggling with depression herself. She was pregnant, but rather than making her happy, this was bringing additional frustrations and emotional struggles. One of our staff talked with her and gave her some booklets dealing with different types of depression.
Just recently, the same lady came back in the bookstore and she looked like a new person – radiant with her face reflecting the peace of our dear Savior. She went up to the staff person who had helped her and with joy thanked him for giving her the booklets. She shared how God had used that time of depression during her pregnancy to bring her to a knowledge of the truth of God Himself. After reading the booklets, she told how an inexplicable peace flooded her heart and she felt inspired and motivated to visit a Christian church where she found Jesus and was now in a discipleship program. She had experienced firsthand how God changes sadness to joy!
Team Members - Humberto and Nelida CLC Chile
From CLC Chile : Some readers came to us in a miraculous way. A young transvestite began to visit the bookstore in Vina del Mar , he reviewed and read some pages of books that interested him. One of the books that he read was “Homosexual No More”. Humberto, the one in charge of the bookstore approached him and told him about Christ and how He could transform his life. He prayed with him and gave his life to Jesus. The seed germinated and soon after the man returned, no longer dressed like a transvestite but like an absolutely normal man. Today he continues visiting the bookstore and buying a book per week.
Team members praying at the opening of the bookstore- CLC Ecuador
From CLC Ecuador - A few days after opening the bookstore in Guayaquil , a Jew entered the premises, and, fascinated by books, began to buy. Now he is a frequent shopper and also has spoken to his friends about CLC and many of them have come to the bookstore. We give thanks to God for this.

From CLC Venezuela -“Recently a man came into the bookstore, asking about the book Answers to The DaVinci Code . His clothes were dirty and bloody, his face was cut up and he looked depressed. He really didn't seem to pay attention to us when he asked, and he started heading out the door. On the way out, one of the ladies asked him: “Do you know who DaVincí was?” The man returned and began to talk to her. She called us to pray for him, and in the middle of this prayer, this man, with weeping, asked the Lord to forgive him and to help him move forward and change his life. When we hugged him, he told us ” I have been out of prison for three days and just going in circles. I was imprisoned for 20 years for assassinating my wife and her lover when I found them together. He had studied civil engineering in the UCV of Caracas. He wanted to go to be with his two daughters in Valencia , but they didn't want him because of what he did. What surprised us, though, was when he said, “You know, when I came here, I was looking for a bathroom and saw the display cabinet and this book caught my attention. I said even though I don't have money I am going to ask, so I came in. But actually, I was looking for the bathroom because I was going to take my life with a knife and a packet of poison.” (which he gave to us) Glory to God! We gave him something to eat, entrusted him to the grace of the Lord and he promised to look for his daughters and the rest of his family to ask their forgiveness. We believe God brought him to the bookstore with a purpose, to recover his desire.
Another one From CLC Venezuela - At the beginning of this year, a Christian lady brought her friend to the Monte Blanco shop in Valencia . Her friend had a turban covering her head, due to chemotherapy and looked bitter. The manager, Marlene, shared with her the love of God and embraced her. She was moved and with tears received the Lord. She got a bible, began to read it and to attend a church. She also began to share with her family of the joy that she felt and of God's love. Later some of her relatives also began to attend church and some visited the bookstore. Finally, after a couple of months, she went to be with the Lord, leaving a testimony of God's love in her last days. Glory to God.
